If you are seeking a mentor to guide you through the legal challenges of starting a business—or assist with an existing enterprise—look no further. With five decades of experience on his side, Ed can provide answers to your most thorny legal questions and move you into action in establishing LLCs/corporations and partnerships, solving business legal issues, determining licensing needs, and complying with regulations.
A graduate of NYU School of Law, Ed began his legal career in 1963 at the Seligson & Morris law firm, immersing himself in all areas of business and corporate law, including acquisitions, securities, contracts, and business transactions. After joining the Robinson Silverman Pearce (now Bryan Cave) law firm in 1973 as managing partner and head of its Business Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights Department, he was recruited in 1989 as a senior partner by Kirkland and Ellis, a nationally prominent general commercial practice firm with 1,700 attorneys, to help establish its New York office. Ed has published articles and lectured at law firms around the country, and remains active to this day consulting with select private clients on contract negotiations and various other legal and business issues. He enthusiastically explains his heartfelt motivation for joining the SCORE team in 2014: “I wanted to do something I was passionate about, and helping others achieve their goals has given me great satisfaction.”
Ed and his wife, Lesley, have been married for 57 years, have two children and seven grandchildren, and reside in Manhattan.
