Henri Steenkamp is the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, Treasurer and Secretary of Saratoga Investment Corporation as well as Saratoga Investment Advisors, LLC. With 20 years of experience in the field, he specializes in financial management, capital markets, restructuring, finance transformation and accounting and financial reporting.
A native of South Africa, Henri Steenkamp earned a degree in financial accounting from the University of Johannesburg in 1998, then spent the next four years in the audit division at PricewaterhouseCoopers in his homeland. He moved into transaction services for that same company upon moving to New York in the early 2000s, then became MF Global’s Head of External Reporting and Accounting Policy in 2006.
Henri Steenkamp rose to Senior Vice President, Global Controller and Chief Accounting Officer at MF Global, then served as Chief Financial Officer before accepting a position as Saratoga’s CFO and Chief Compliance Officer in March 2014. He added the titles of Treasurer and Secretary five months later, and has helped sharpen the company’s focus on leveraged and management buyouts, recapitalizations, debt refinancing, growth financing, acquisition financing and the like.
Henri Steenkamp is also a member of the New York Chapter of the Private Equity CFO Association (PECFOA), the Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA) SBIC Committee and the Elder Board of Grace Chapel in Bedminster N.J.
